New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) has introduced a voucher scheme for small business owners to give them access to training and services to help build their management capabilities with the aim of accelerating business growth.
The scheme is called the NZTE Capability Development Voucher Scheme. Under the scheme eligible businesses will receive a voucher to cover 50% of the cost of NZTE approved training.
NZTE has appointed a number of management and professional service firms to deliver training workshops, courses and coaching under the voucher scheme.

Under the scheme UHY Haines Norton offers programmes to improve business performance through better planning, improved management information systems, better cashflow forecasting and improved costing and pricing of products and services.

To qualify for the training subsidy a business must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Fewer than 50 full time employees.
• Registered for GST in New Zealand.
• Currently trading i.e. with paying customers, not a start up business.
• Privately owned.
• A demonstrated desire to innovate and grow.
A business meeting these criteria will also be required to undergo an assessment by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED).
