Where Do Successful People Put Their Focus? – (A Spanish Lesson)

Some time ago I attended a UHY emerging leaders’ development course in Grazelema Spain.  I remember the content of the course was intense, testing us and requiring us to move out of our comfort zone.  I often reflect upon what I learnt there and thought I would share the key points in this newsletter, which is our first for 2013.

The subject of the course was “Where Do Successful People Put Their Focus”

Focus No 1.          AMBITION
One of the most important things in life is to have ambition.  Ambition may take many forms, career, wealth, education, business goals, or whatever.  We need to focus on our ambition. Every day we should be guided by our ambition and strive towards the goal of achieving it.  Remember, the world is ready to give, it’s a matter of how you ask!

Focus No 2.          FAMILY
Family is more important than we think but sometimes we take it for granted.  At the end of the day our family are our support system, and our reason for working and succeeding.  Concentrate on your loved ones and be ready to do anything for them.  When we say “love you” to our kids, really mean it.  And if saying “goodbye” say it as if it’s the last time you’ll see them.

Focus No 3.          SPIRITUAL
An interesting perception, but evidence has it that the majority of successful people are spiritual.  When looking at the big picture, spirituality focuses on a person’s consciousness.  It helps a person clear blocks, fixations, self-defeating patterns and expands their consciousness.  This in turn allows us to lead a life of fulfilment and awareness.

Focus No 4.          HEALTH
You may have everything money can buy but without good health it means nothing.  Health consists of mental health and physical health.  Remember to take time out of your busy schedule to relax, breathe, exercise and maintain good health.  Remember, health is your greatest wealth!

As a result of attending the emerging leadership course I often evaluate my performance in these areas  and if I  feel that I am lacking in one of them that is where I seek to direct my focus.  I hope this gives you something to think about and that its application can bring you success in 2013 and beyond.

We trust you find the articles in newsletter interesting and informative.  As always, if there is anything here that you would like to discuss please don’t hestitate to give one of us a call.
