From The UHY Haines Norton Directors: Reflecting On 2013

As the year is nearly at an end, we decided to ask the Directors to reflect on 2013 and the highlights and challenges it brought us.

“Thank You For Your Ongoing Support”

Tim LivingstoneWhile 2013 has not been a vintage year for business, 2014 promises greater activity.
Prior to the Christmas break is a great time to “clear the decks” of those matters you have not yet addressed, ensuring a clean slate for 2014.
I would like to thank all of my clients for their ongoing support and wish you and your teams a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Tim Livingstone

“Challenges and Rewards”

Kerry TizardIt’s hard to believe that another year is coming to an end and that Christmas is nearly upon us again.
Where has the year gone and more importantly, what has been achieved?
When I reflect on it, 2013 has had its fair mix of challenges and rewards for me on both a professional and personal level.  Like most of you, I am looking forward to spending a couple of weeks at the beach with family and friends swimming , fishing and catching up on a bit of reading.
I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
See you back ready to go in 2014.
Kerry Tizard

“Major Undertakings”

Sungesh Singh2013 was a tough year for Audit.  A great deal of time and energy was expended on dealing with the new Auditor Regulation requirements and coupled with that, we also went through a FMA review.  Even following those major undertakings we were still able to meet and complete all audit deadlines – and this is something which I am very proud of.  It certainly could not have been possible without the support of my team and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and dedication.  I wish all of our clients a wonderful and relaxing Christmas break, and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.
Sungesh Singh

“Looking Ahead”

John BallardLooking ahead to 2014, after four years of continual banter from economists and financial writers, it appears as if interest rates may well rise.  Capital Gains Tax will happen – it is really only a matter of when (although not during 2014 election year).
I’m looking forward to using my gold card in 2014 and all that comes with it.  Happy New Year.
John Ballard

“2014 Is Going To Be A Good Year”

Mark FosterWell this year has been a challenging year for the Helensville office, with Craig coming on board and our focus on turning work around more quickly than the previous two years.
Overall our Helensville team worked well and we are a happy bunch up there.  We can see signs of improvement in the economy especially in the construction industry and our belief is that 2014 is going to be a good year.
We wish all our clients a very merry Christmas and we look forward to servicing your accounting needs in the 2014 year.
Mark Foster

“In Good Heart”

Grant BrownleeThe team at UHY Haines Norton is in good heart as we head into the Christmas break.  And so we should be.  We live in a great country, the economy is cranking up, we have a wonderful cohesive, professional and hardworking culture here at UHY and we have a very loyal client base.  Thank you to our clients for keeping us busy and thank you to my fellow Directors and the whole UHY team for making 2013 a solid year for the firm.  We are all looking forward to a break and the promise of a better 2014 and beyond, having been through a tough few years.  I wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Grant Brownlee
