Every year Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) Auckland is helping thousands of children and young people in West Auckland to discover possibility, transform lives, and reach their potential.
Through proven and acclaimed programmes Kiwi Can, Project K and Stars, FYD is able to help build self-esteem, promote good values and teach valuable life, education and health skills. FYD is helping to improve the lives of our young people, covering the entire spectrum from in-risk youth to others who just need a nudge in the right direction.
Westie Wednesday is FYD’s annual community fundraising event and is a celebration of our Wonderful Westies. It’s a chance to show what a proud and unique bunch we are out West! From Mullets to Mo-hawks, Black Jeans to Lava-Lava’s, Gumboots to Ug-boots, and everything in between, we are a diverse community!
When: Wednesday, November 19th 2014
How can you get involved? Simple! You can help by collecting gold coin donations when you:
- Hold a Westie Wednesday staff mufti day
- Crank up the BBQ and run a staff sausage sizzle at lunch
- Host after work drinks
- Place a FYD Westie Wednesday donation box on your front counter for the month of November
- We’re sure you’ll have lots of other ideas to help support this important community event.
The cost of disengaged youth to our community is significant. The cost of not doing something about it is far greater. With your support FYD can continue to make a difference and collaborate for change in our community.
