We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to our new Senior Auditor, Catherine McCarthy. Joining us from Audit New Zealand, Catherine brings extensive experience in public sector auditing to the busy Audit division.
It is with regret that we announce that Accountant Katrina Whatmough is leaving us this Christmas. Katrina will be taking a new opportunity in the insurance industry and we wish her all the best.
As Administration Manager Karen Kipling retires after 25 years with us (see story “Farewell to Karen Kipling”), we welcome her replacement Yvonne Wood as Practice Manager. Yvonne’s busy role will include managing the Administration team, Human Resources and payroll, among other duties.
Congratulations to Rosalie Conroy, who in addition to juggling work and family has passed all four of her exams to complete her degree in accounting.
Congratulations to accountant Kahu Selkirk, who has now received full membership to the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Trudi’s team raised $2,700, and the entire night-time event has raised a total of more than $185,000 for the Cancer Society. Apart from some wind, the weather was kind and it was a beautiful clear evening out on the harbour. In recent years The Riverhead Tavern has undergone extensive renovations and was awarded “Best Emerging Business” in the Westpac West Auckland Business Awards 2013. The tavern was a beautiful setting for our dinner, with river views complemented by a delicious Christmas buffet. All-in-all it was a great night with much fun had by everyone, and once again the Social Club did a wonderful job of organising it all.
