In our final newsletter for the year we asked our Directors to share their thoughts on 2015 as it draws to a close.

“Winning The Rugby World Cup”

Tim 2014 pic 1For me personally the highlight of 2015 was the All Blacks winning the Rugby World Cup “their way”.

From a practice perspective most clients appear to be making money, which is really positive. However, each year throws up new or different challenges. After about 15 years of complete inaction, there have been several IRD risk assessments or audits. Thankfully, though, nothing adverse has resulted from these.

Looking forward to 2016, the New Zealand economy looks okay but not spectacular. I suspect the Auckland residential property market – which has certainly been a hot topic all year – will be a lot more subdued in 2016.

Best wishes for a safe and happy Christmas and holiday period.

“The Year Has Flown By”

Kerry headshot cropped2015 has come and gone in a flash. If it was the same for you as for me, individual days and weeks during the year may have been challenging – sometimes seemingly lasting forever – but when you pull back and look at the broad picture the year has flown by.

Hopefully you have all had your fair share of wins during the last twelve months and managed to avoid getting too bogged down in the detail that can tend to swamp us all at times.

Some of the recent events both nationally and internationally will no doubt have given you cause to reassess various points of view but we should each remember what we are all about and endeavour to stick to our overriding principles.

2016 will bring new and different challenges and opportunities, but in the meantime I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year – maybe come up with a personal challenge for 2016 that scares you just a little bit!

“Another Eventful Audit Year”

Sungesh SinghIt’s the end of another eventful Audit year full of regulatory-driven changes to quality. I’m sure Santa will go to bed feeling safe at night knowing that UHY Haines Norton has participated and contributed well in upholding quality in our capital markets in New Zealand!

Our independent opinion is that all of our clients and staff members have been good throughout the year.  On that note I would like to wish everyone a fabulous Christmas and a safe holiday season full of laughter. I’ll see you again in what I believe is going to be a spectacular 2016. Best wishes.

Sungesh Singh

“A Great Team”

Mark cropped headshotThis has been an especially busy and challenging year with the opening of our new Kumeu office. Now eight months after opening, we have all settled in and I think we have a great team in place.

There have been some staff changes in Helensville with the addition of Rafe who is picking up the ropes really well and teaching us an IT thing or three. Now we’re looking forward to getting settled into our new Helensville office across the road at 34 Commercial Road.

Thanks to all of our loyal clients and to those who have just joined us this year. Looking forward to working with you all again next year.

Mark Foster

“Make The Most Of It”
