Helensville clients Richard and Dianne Kidd, who own Whenuanui Farm, have been awarded top honours at the inaugural Auckland Ballance Farm Environment Awards. Named Supreme winners at a special Ballance Farm Environment Awards ceremony in March, the couple were also presented with the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Livestock Award and the Farm Stewardship Award in partnership with QEII National Trust and New Zealand Farm Environment Trust.
Richard and Dianne have run Whenuanui Farm since 1978, when it was originally 275 hectares. They have incrementally increased the property to a 376 hectare beef and sheep operation consisting of 4,820 stock units and a pine forestry unit. The couple have been praised as environmental champions and great role models, as well as outstanding managers with a vision for protecting the environment for future generations. Situated in South Kaipara, the farm has fully fenced waterways, biodiversity corridors, regenerating native bush, and grows a variety of crops including maize, rape, chicory with red clover, plantain and Pasja.
UHY Haines Norton would like to congratulate Richard and Dianne on their awards and much-deserved recognition of their achievements. For more information on the history, operations and features of Whenuanui Farm go to www.whenuanuifarm.nz.
