We are thrilled to be part of a committee who have re-launched the West Auckland Business Hall of Fame.  Formerly known as the Waitakere Business Hall of Fame, these awards were in existence for 13 years but fell by the wayside following the amalgamation of Waitakere City with the “Super City”.

Chaired by our own Tim Livingstone, the West Auckland Business Hall of Fame has been re-branded and reinstated with assistance from the Rosebank Business Association, UHY Haines Norton and Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development.  We are proud to continue this legacy celebrating the achievements of the West Auckland business community and continue fostering business success in our region.

On 30th June we held a special gala luncheon and induction ceremony for the two 2016 recipients: Joe Babich ONZM of Babich Wines and John Barnett, founding owner of South Pacific Pictures – each of whom has made a significant contribution to economic growth not only in West Auckland but in New Zealand as a whole.  Every Hall of Fame laureate has a story of boldness, initiative, innovation and success contributing greatly to their specific communities – merits that Joe Babich and John Barnett both have in abundance.

Very ably and entertainingly led by MC Simon Dallow (also a native West Aucklander), the event was attended by over 170 people and we were honoured to host the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon Bill English as our special keynote speaker.  Sponsors the BNZ also honoured past laureate Sir Graeme Douglas MNZM FPS during the event with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his immense and enduring contributions to the region.

The West Auckland Business Hall of Fame is a true celebration of the region’s finest and we look forward to carrying on the tradition for many years to come.
