Starting 14 November 2025, both our Henderson and Kumeu offices will close at 12.30pm every Friday through 31 March 2026. We’re trialling a four and a half day working week, and we wanted to share why we’re doing this and what it means for you.

Why we're doing this

Staff wellbeing and work-life balance have always been important to us, and this trial is the next step in that commitment. We’ve also been working hard behind the scenes to improve our systems and production processes. These improvements have made us more efficient, and we’re now able to deliver consistently high-quality professional service in less time.

Rather than just pocketing those efficiency gains, we want to invest them back into our team. Happier, more balanced staff deliver better service. We’ve seen this play out time and again, and the research backs it up. When people have time to recharge, they bring more focus, creativity, and energy to their work.

What this means for you

Your service won’t be affected. We’ve planned this carefully to ensure we continue delivering the professional, efficient service you’ve come to expect from us. Our business hours Monday to Thursday remain unchanged, and we’ll still be responsive and available when you need us.

If you have an emergency on a Friday afternoon during the trial period, we’ll still be available to assist. Just call Yvonne Wood on 021 500 122, and we’ll make sure you’re looked after.

The bigger picture

This trial is part of our continuous improvement philosophy. We’re always asking ourselves: how can we do this better? Sometimes that means new technology or streamlined processes. Sometimes it means rethinking how we structure our working week.

The accounting profession is changing, and we’re committed to evolving with it. We want to attract and retain great people, and we want to create a workplace where they can thrive. This trial is one way we’re putting that commitment into action.

We’ll be monitoring how the trial goes over these months, gathering feedback from both our team and our clients. At the end of March 2026, we’ll evaluate the results and decide on the path forward.
