For Arpita, accounting has always been about people.
With more than 20 years' experience in accounting, taxation, business advisory and commercial operations, Arpita brings a wealth of expertise and a practical, client-focused approach to helping businesses succeed.
Arpita began her career with ABB Limited in India in 2005 before relocating to New Zealand in 2010. She joined UHY in 2015 and has worked across all of the firm's offices, giving her a broad understanding of the diverse industries, businesses and communities that UHY serves. Over the years, she has developed strong relationships with clients from a wide range of industries, including farming, manufacturing, wineries, professional services and family-owned businesses.
Experience & Expertise
As a Principal, Arpita plays an active role in facilitating the firm's quality control and staff training initiatives while continuing to support clients with accounting, taxation and business advisory services. She is passionate about helping business owners make sense of their financial information and is known for translating complex concepts into practical, easy-to-understand advice.
Her experience spans a wide range of industries and client types, enabling her to provide meaningful, value-added advice tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Arpita believes that accounting is most valuable when it goes beyond compliance, helping clients make informed decisions, identify opportunities and achieve their personal and business goals.
Building Client Relationships
Arpita believes that great advice starts with understanding the person behind the business.
Whether she is visiting a farm, walking through a manufacturing plant, touring a winery or meeting with a service-based business owner, she enjoys seeing firsthand what makes each business unique. She believes that understanding how a business operates enables her to provide more practical, relevant and valuable advice.
Known for her approachable and collaborative style, Arpita takes pride in building trusted, long-term relationships with clients. Many of those relationships have lasted for years, which she considers one of the most rewarding aspects of her role. Guided by the values of kindness, respect and integrity, she works alongside clients to resolve problems, identify opportunities and support their success.
Her philosophy is simple: “every problem has a solution, and by working together, challenges can be transformed into opportunities.”
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Arpita is a proud mum to two boys, which ensures life is never short of activity. She primarily enjoys spending time with family, gardening, painting (when time permits), and reading about topics that spark her interest. Passionate about both people and innovation, she also maintains a keen and strong interest in technology and the ways it can enhance businesses and client experiences.
