Our team takes on the Auckland Marathon

On a brilliant Auckland morning this November, our entire director team laced up their running shoes and took on the One New Zealand 11km Traverse as part of the 2025 Auckland Marathon. Some ran, some walked, but everyone finished. And it was exactly the kind of team-building moment that reminds us why we love working together.

The traverse and the team

The weather turned on for us, with clear blue skies and perfect conditions as more than 17,000 runners and walkers took to Auckland’s streets. Our team joined thousands of others crossing the iconic harbour bridge, soaking up the atmosphere and the support from crowds lining the route.

Bhavin Sanghavi led the charge, completing the 11km in an impressive 1:23. The rest of the directors followed through with solid performances:

• Sungesh Singh: 1:38:44

• Mark Foster: 1:48:45

• Emma Simpson: 1:51:12

• Erin Gibson: 1:55:24

More than just the run

As our Managing Director, Sungesh, put it afterwards: “What an awesome team spirit on display.” And he was right. Watching everyone support each other throughout the course, then gathering for brunch afterwards with plenty of laughs and great food, perfectly captured what makes our team work so well together.

These shared experiences outside the office strengthen the relationships that make us effective inside it. When you’ve tackled an 11km course together (and survived the next day walking upright, as Sungesh hoped), you’ve built the kind of camaraderie that translates into better collaboration and stronger partnerships.

Why this matters

We talk a lot about positive relationships being at the heart of what we do. Events like this are where that value comes to life. It’s not just about running or walking, it’s about being part of something together, supporting each other through challenges, and celebrating the wins as a team.

The Auckland Marathon organisers reported that nearly $500,000 was raised for charities through this year’s event, with runners from 113 nations taking part. Being part of something bigger than ourselves, contributing to our community, and doing it as a team felt like exactly the right way to spend a Saturday morning.

Well done to everyone who took part. Those legs definitely earned the rest, and the team spirit was absolutely worth celebrating. Here’s to many more moments like this.
